The history of PlantVision

April 2022


Today, PlantVision has around 190 employees with offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Lund, Uppsala, Södertälje and Sundsvall. Certified as a Great Place to Work® for sixth year in a row. Named one of Sweden’s Best Workplaces by Great Place to Work for the second year in a row.

December 2021


Started collaboration with F-Secure (cybersecurity for Life Science). Organized IVDR Summit in collaboration with Swedish Labtech. New website launched for PlantPerformance (production monitoring & OEE). Certified as a Great Place To Work® for fifth year in a row. Named one of Sweden’s Best Workplaces by Great Place to Work. Selected as one of Sweden’s ‘Career Companies 2022’ by Karriärföretagen.

December 2020


Passed 150 employees and expanded our presence in the Öresund region. Formalized partnerships with Swedish Labtech and Tracelink (pharmaceutical serialization). Certified as a Great Place to Work® for fourth year in a row.

December 2019


Smart Management team established. Became production planning “Smart Expert” for Siemens PLM. Established partnerships with Swedish Medtech, Läkemedelsakadimen and STUNS Life Science. Organized ‘Operational Excellence Conference’ in October for approx. 160 attendees from across Swedish industry. Simon Thuresson appointed as new CEO. Certified as a Great Place to Work® for third year in a row.

December 2018


Became a solution partner for OSIsoft (manufacturing intelligence). Launched fully web-based version of PlantPerformance (production monitoring and OEE). Extended Siemens partnership to include SIMATIC IT – Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Certified as a Great Place to Work® for second year in a row. Number of employees grew to 140.

December 2017


PlantVision head office moved to larger office space in Kista Science Tower, Stockholm. Certified as a Great Place To Work®.

December 2016


New office opened in Södertälje. Number of employees grows to 100.

December 2015


Regulatory Affairs and Process Technology Business Areas started. PlantVision became Siemens COMOS partner for Finland.

December 2013


New office opened in Uppsala. 

December 2012


PlantVision head office moved to Kista Science Tower, Stockholm.

December 2011


Partnership established with Preactor – advanced planning & scheduling (now Siemens Opcenter APS).

December 2007


PlantVision acquired Validera (a consultancy company specializing in validation and quality assurance) and PlantSolutions (a supplier of industrial IT and automation). The acquisitions led to synergies, brought a partnership with Siemens, and established two new business areas within PlantVision.

December 1999


During 1998 the business area was acquired by external investors and PlantVision was officially formed in January 1999. AspenTech was a key strategic partner from the outset. A partnership with Thermo LabSystems (now Thermo Fisher Scientific) followed soon afterwards.

December 1993


PlantVision’s roots date back to the time of Tillquist Process. An assignment for LKAB became the foundation for a new business area within Tillquist Process focusing on production information management systems.
