PlantVision AB has extended its partnership with Siemens in the area of Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0. The new agreement means PlantVision now provides an even broader offering that includes SIMATIC IT – Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
The SIMATIC IT MES is part of the Siemens PLM software (Manufacturing Operations Management) offer for the Digital Enterprise – the holistic solution that supports the entire value chain, from product development through production planning, production engineering and production execution to service.
PlantVision’s Product Manager, Morgan Bodin, explains how the new agreement will strengthen the company’s portfolio, “We already have a large footprint within life science, process and energy industries, but we are now seeing increasing demand from discrete manufacturing where Siemens is very well positioned within automation, supply chain management, operations and plant asset management.”
“With SIMATIC IT MES we have the possibility to offer a complete portfolio of Smart Manufacturing solutions to customers, helping them to realize the Digital Enterprise and close the information loop between engineering, operations and services,” adds Morgan.
Magnus Severin, CEO at PlantVision, describes the significance of the new agreement, “As PlantVision continues to grow and add new services and expertise, it is important that we also continue to expand in terms of the solutions we offer. SIMATIC IT MES fills a white space we have seen in our existing portfolio within certain industries. It also further strengthens our partnership with Siemens giving our customers the possibility to increase their competitiveness and the efficiency of their manufacturing operations.”
“For Siemens it’s important to grow with our partners,” says Niclas Dahl, Channel Development Manager for Siemens PLM Software. “We are very pleased that PlantVision has chosen to broaden its partnership with Siemens to include the Manufacturing Operations Management area. This will help us to keep pace with the increasing interest we are seeing in our Digital Enterprise solutions in the Nordic region.”
