A strong Life Science history, together with a modern mix of innovation, established industry and extensive support networks makes Uppsala one of Sweden’s most important Life Science centers – and a natural place to find PlantVision.

PlantVision opened its Uppsala office (located in Uppsala Business Park) in 2013. Since then, the team has grown year on year to provide local support to our growing customer base in the region, primarily within the area of Compliance Excellence.

We work with all organizations across the Life Science spectrum, from service providers to development and manufacturing companies, covering Pharma, Biotech, MedTech, IVD and Healthcare. Typically, our customers are looking for expertise to help carry out daily compliance operations, or to drive some kind of transition, for example, digitalization or data integrity initiatives.

We focus on working in partnership with customers – in the sense of always being adaptable and optimizing support to meet the customer’s needs. We work either individually or in delivery teams, so we can achieve a tailored fit to the customer’s organization and goals. PlantVision as a whole, operates as a large family, where everyone is connected, so we can always bring in and combine expertise from any area of the company.

What is the focus in Uppsala at the moment?

The world of Life Science is moving forward quickly, with updated regulations, new scientific approaches and an evolving market space with an increased focus on environmental challenges. This is taking place in the context of wider changes in society, making the need for adaptation and flexibility even greater. At PlantVision, we are continually strengthening our team and positioning ourselves so we can deliver the knowledge and practical expertise to help our customers succeed.

During recent years we have recruited several new team members to broaden our offering further. For example, we now offer strategic management services for Life Science companies in transition, focusing on business and organizational development.

The new in vitro diagnostic regulation (IVDR) is in focus, as the deadline for full implementation approaches. All diagnostics companies need to get to grips with the requirements of the new regulation and, for some companies, the impact will be substantial.

The immediate transition to remote working, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic during 2020, has put the spotlight on Cybersecurity. The need for information control has, of course, been there all along. However, the pace and breadth of digitalization has increased dramatically, which will require companies of all sizes to intensify their efforts in this area.

Quality Management Systems (QMS) is another area where we see we can support our customers in the near term. Regulation changes mean companies need to review their QMS, and improve processes and solutions, such as document libraries.

We are also actively supporting local networking and special interest events. In Uppsala, there is always something going on, providing opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
