PLANTVISION
HISTORY

PlantVision was formed in January 1999. However, the company’s history dates back five years prior to this. At the end of 1993, Tillquist Process received an order from LKAB for a comprehensive information system for its production in Kiruna, Sweden. The solution was based on technology from an American company, ISI, which was subsequently acquired by AspenTech. The assignment for LKAB became the foundation for a new business area within Tillquist Process focusing on production information management systems.

Tillquist Process was owned by the publicly quoted company Sandblom & Stohne. In conjunction with the restructuring of the Stohne group in 1998 the business area focusing on production information management systems was acquired by external investors. The seven employees at the time were given the task of driving forwards the concept. This was the start of PlantVision.

During 1999 and 2000 a great deal of effort was invested in establishing a solid foundation for PlantVision. Even before the company started, AspenTech had been a strategic partner for operations. Shortly after PlantVision was formed it entered into another strategic partnership with the then named Thermo LabSystems, now Thermo Fisher Scientific. With this, the final groundwork was laid for PlantVision’s mission – to lead the way in production information technology.

Between 2001 and 2006 the goal was to grow the company organically with profitability. At the end of 2006 the number of employees had increased to 30.

In 2007 PlantVision acquired Validera, a company working with validation and quality assurance, focusing on automation and IT.

At the end of 2007 PlantVision acquired another company, PlantSolutions, working with industrial IT and automation.

Also during 2007 a strategic partnership was entered in to with the English company Broner Metals Solutions, relating to system solutions for the steel industry.

Today, PlantVision has 50 employees and an annual turnover of around 60 million Swedish Kronor. The head office is located in Kista (Stockholm) and the company has additional offices in Sundsvall and Stenungsund.

The company’s goal is to continue to grow with profitability by delivering qualified services and effective system solutions to the process and manufacturing industry.
